According to hindu
mythology Lord Ganesha is worshipped first before beginning of any
event, to make it successful, That’s why Ganesha is called ‘The Lord of
Beginning’. Lord Ganesha is the divine son of Lord shiva and Goddess Parvati. Ganesh
Chaturthi is celebrated as Lord Ganesha Birthday every year in the month of
bhadrapad (August/September) starting on the chaturthi (fourth day) of the
waxing moon period. This festival last for 10 days and ends on anant
chaturdashi of the waxing moon. It is said that during this period lord Ganesha
visits the earth to bestow his blessing on human beings.
